A Difficult Farewell: OSO AI Search Engine is Shutting Down

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of our AI search engine, OSO. Over the past several weeks, we have been working diligently with our stakeholders to develop a continuation strategy following the departure of our CTO and key members of the OSO tech team, who have left to establish a new enterprise AI company. During this transition process, we encountered unforeseen challenges related to OSO's internal operations, making it difficult to devise a plan that we believe would truly benefit our users and investors.

Despite our best efforts, we have reached the difficult decision to shut down OSO. We understand that this news may come as a shock, and we deeply regret any inconvenience this may cause to our loyal users.

For our OSO PRO subscribers via the web application, we have already taken steps to cancel your subscriptions and issue refunds where applicable. However, for those who have subscribed to OSO PRO via the iOS app, we are still in the process of working with Apple to gain access to the iOS developer account. In the meantime, we recommend that you manually cancel your subscription via the app store subscription management feature to ensure no further charges are incurred.

While this marks the end of our journey with OSO, we remain steadfast in our belief that AI will fundamentally disrupt the search and information discovery industries. We are saddened that OSO will not be part of this evolution.

Our CEO and co-founder, accompanied by several members of the remaining OSO team, will be pursuing new ventures in the realm of decentralized AI. This focus on open, transparent, and user-owned AI infrastructure is a promising direction, one that is increasingly recognized by industry leaders as the future of AI.
